they shut my site down and don't reply!

4 hours passed since I got a last message from them. I sent them 2 emails asking to bring back my site s o I can remove that problematic script but they are silent. Damn, I can't access data on site, that's business information and I'm loosing my money. I hope I can get it and run away from them. Don't like hostgator anymore.

I have a shared account with them. This night one my script caused a high load of server so they shut account down (htpp,ftp,cpanel - all). I emailed them, they replied about a high server load and suggested to 'elaborate the script'. I emailed them back asking to unsuspend it so I can delete the script but still no reply. Well, I will wait.

I have a site with them. Site is running very well, no downtime noticed, everything functions as it should so I never had to contact support. Control panel automates all routine tasks. Recommend them to others.

I signed up for service with HostGator last week and was forced to cancel almost immediately. The initial reason is because their claim of supporting MySQL 5 with all shared hosting plans is false. In reality they only offer MySQL 4 unless you have a "swamp" plan, which is their most expensive. Secondly, my experience with their support staff was very poor. When I asked how to access the MySQL 5 servers their response was adequately fast (about 90 minutes for a low-priority request), but stated that it isn't available with my account. Through a series of replies, despite the conflicting information on their web site and in a press release*, they refused to admit that they were responsible for the conflicting information. Most people don't seem to have the same type of experience with HostGator as I did, so perhaps this is an isolated incident. One minor issue I had was that when I cancelled my account, they did not refund my money. I had to reply again to the cancellation request before they did so. The refund was done quickly after that, but it shouldn't be necessary to ask more than once.
