Offshore Web Design: Quantum Cloud

Quantum Cloud is based in Dhaka, Bangladesh and has been around for five years. Their design process is a six step one, starting with finding out the purpose of the website and then creating a prototype, which is then enhanced and tested before the full web site is generated. The service includes uploading the site to the client's server and configuring it. The whole process takes two to three weeks. Only one design is ever generated, though changes are permissible. Although Quantum Cloud was not specific about the cost of the service, they did say that they would take a 50 per cent deposit at the start of the design process. However, the site does give some hourly rates as a guide including $12 per hour for web design and $16 per hour for programming. The designs meet W3C standards. The company does not provide hosting or SEO services.

Offshore Web Design: CyberThink InfoTech

CyberThink InfoTech is based in India. Like other companies, CyberThink starts with a mockup design (you can have up to three), which is then approved or amended before pages are generated. The designs comply with W3C standards, using CSS and XHTML. Once that has been approved content is dropped into pages and they are checked again before being uploaded to the client's server. The whole process takes three weeks with a 50% deposit upfront. Communication is by email, IM and phone.

CyberThink offers hosting through third parties, and also provides search engine optimization services, with a standard package of six months costing $3,600. If that seems a bit steep, you can pay $1,800 for three months. The service includes directory submission, link popularity analysis and building, paid inclusion and the use of blogs to create buzz. The company will also generate written content for this purpose.

Offshore Web Design: Alps Software Solution

Alps Software Solution is based in TamilNadu, India. It's been around since 2001 and now has 50 web designers, developers and search engine analysts on staff. Alps Software will use information on websites and designs you like to create up to three samples for you to choose from. If you don't like the initial designs, more samples are available. You can make unlimited revisions during the design process. Once the samples have been approved the site can be designed in four to six days, with pricing set at $90 for the CSS layout and menu design and $170 to drop the content into 20 pages. Designs are done in XHTML and CSS2. A Flash version of the website would cost an additional $450 to $600.

Communication is by email and IM, with daily updates on the progress of your project.

Hosting is available to those who buy a design service, and SEO services are also available. Costs involved include $215 for on page optimization; $55 for search engine and directory submission; and up to $480 for link building.

Offshore Web Design: Macronimous

Macronimous is based in Coimbatore, South India. As always the design process starts with the sites you like, after which you get a quote for the site. After payment of a 50% deposit, you get two home page designs to look at, from which you must choose one. Additional designs can be created for a fixed cost. Designs are done to W3C standards with CSS, HTML, XHTML and both tabled and table less designs available.

Your site is stored on the company's production server, so you can keep track of progress, and then is uploaded to your server after the final payment is made. You then have 30 days to make any changes without an additional charge. Macronimous estimates that a 20 page site will take 15 days to create, including changes and fixes. Communication is by IM, email, Skype or phone. Both hosting and SEO services are available.
